Amsler grid · both eyes

Show your doctor how you see.

Bent lines, a grey patch, four headlights instead of two. These are hard to put into words. Rebuild what each eye sees on an Amsler grid, then see what both eyes make together.

Rebuild what each eye sees

Adjust one eye at a time. You compare with the other eye, so the result matches what you really see.

  1. Cover your right eye. With your left eye, look at the dot in the middle of the reference grid. Notice what bends, shifts or fades.
  2. Cover your left eye. With your right eye, look at your adjustment. Open the setting below that matches what you saw and change it until both look alike.

Overall shiftoff

The whole image sits in a different place. Look at the reference dot and switch eyes a few times, then move the image as far as the dot jumps.

Bent or wavy linesoff

One area bends. Tap or drag on your adjustment to put it in the right place.

Dark or grey patchoff

Part of the view looks darker or missing. Tap or drag on your adjustment to place it.

Dimmer or tintedoff

White looks less white, or colours look washed out in this eye.

See what both eyes make together

Both images are laid on top of each other. Where they split apart is where things look double.

In every scene you are looking at the centre: the grid dot, the middle line of text, the presenter's eyes, the oncoming headlights.
